Guided tour in the ancient Duchy of Della Rovere family, discovering of Renaissance palaces, art and gastronomy.
DAY 1 - SENIGALLIA
Meeting after lunch with our guide. The afternoon will be spent visiting the city, with particular emphasis on the history of the Duchy of Rovere and then to its symbolic monument, the evocative Rocca Roveresca. The visit with our guide will continue with the other famous landmarks. Dinner at the hotel. After dinner, if time allows, have a walk to the waterfront to see the famous Rotonda a Mare.
Day 2 GUBBIO
Breakfast at the hotel. Arrival in Gubbio, medieval city par excellence, nestled between the mountains. The day will be dedicated to visit the country, both from the historical point of view, following the footsteps of the Duchy of Montefeltro, with Piazza Grande, one of the most extraordinary places of Italy from which you have a 'good overview of the city, the Palazzo Ducale , built by Francesco di Giorgio Martini, both from the religious point of view, retracing an important feature of the life of the saint poverello patron of Italy, St. Francis, as the church of Victorina, where, according to tradition, Francis tames the wolf . During the day you will have lunch in a place with local specialties. Late afternoon, return to Senigallia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 PESARO - GRADARA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Pesaro, the city of the dukedom of Della Rovere from 1513, when Pope Julius II Della Rovere grants it to his nephew Francesco Maria I, becoming the new political capital of the Duchy. The morning will be dedicated to visit the city: Ducal Palace and Rocca Costanza, the latter a good example of military architecture. Lunch on site. In the afternoon, transfer to Gradara that, with its fortress is now universally recognized symbol of passionate love, as within its walls has worn the tragic story of Paolo and Francesca, told by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Late afternoon return to Senigallia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 URBINO
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Urbino, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998, where we will visit the famous Doge's Palace, built by Federico da Montefeltro, the "Duke" by definition. The interior of the building houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, with the most famous works of Piero della Francesca, Paolo Uccello, Peter Berreguete, the ideal city and Muta by Raphael. Lunch on site. In the afternoon visit and finally the birthplace of the painter Raphael. Late afternoon return to Senigallia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 RETURN
Breakfast at hotel and check out. Departure for the return to places of origin (planning another tour possible on request)
